Versatile Blogger Award - Plus Get To Know The Girl Behind The Curtian

Most importantly I would like to thank Bethany Paige from Paige of Fashion (okay LOVE the pun) for nominating me for this award. It is one thing when your friends and family complement your blog but you enter a whole other ball park when strangers take time to call your blog out and say "Wow, I really like it." So, thank you again Bethany. (Seriously, go check out out her blog. I love it.)
Now is the time for me to nominate 15 blogs that I think deserve this award. I don't think I can list 15 but here are a few that I love and I think you should go check out.

Now time for me to tell you seven facts about myself.
1. I love impressionist painters. I think that their pieces are works of pure beauty. I mean the brush stokes, the color, it's all just beautiful.

Pierre August Renoir painted Claude Monet

2. I have recently decided that I want to be a fashion designer. It's a long shot of a dream but I have never been practical with my aspirations.

3. I have two dogs named Luna and Juniper, I love them dearly and they are the cutest dogs in the world.

4. One of the things on my list to do before I die is to own a Valentino dress. I mean if I wasn't a poor college student and had an unlimited bank account I would own everything he has made. Each piece is a work of art.

5.My biggest pet peeve is when people jump to conclusions.
"You jumped, of course," explained Canby. "That's the way most everyone gets here. It's really quite simple: every time you decide something without having a good reason, you jump to Conclusions whether you like it or not. It's such an easy trip to make that I've been here hundreds of times."
"But this is such an unpleasant-looking place," Milo remarked.
"Yes, that's true," admitted Canby; "it does look much better from a distance."
-The Phantom Tollbooth

6. I love seeing the moon during the day, I think it one of the most beautiful sights in the world.

7. I can be one of the most indecisive people you have ever met but once I make up mind it will never be changed.

DIY Branch Jewelry Hanger

As my jewelry collection continues to grow I am always looking for new ways to store my it. I'm a very visual person so I like to have it all laid out and 90% of the time that means tangled in a pile on my dresser. So the other day when I was in a rush out the door, desperately trying to untangle a necklace I realized I couldn't continue to keep my jewelry this way. I needed a way to get organized and fast. So off to the internet I went! I found tons of cute storage pieces and while I didn't necessarily have a specific thing I wanted in mind, I just knew I wanted something to hang on my wall. And as I continued to look I realized that most of the stuff I was looking at I could just make. So I decided to save my money and get to work making something myself to hold my jewelry.

What You'll Need:
Embroidery Thread
Scissors (helpful for pulling apart the jump rings)
Chain
Two Jump Rings
A Branch
Two Thumb Tacks

Step 1.
Loop the chain around the branch and close it together with the jump ring. Repeat on the other side.

Step 2.
Begin to decorate your branch with the thread using as much or as little as you like.

I chose to do less as you can see below.

Step 3.
Admire your work, tack to your wall and then hang your necklaces and bracelets on it.

Lace But With A Bit Of An Edge

High waisted denim shorts. Everyone loves them, including myself. I had to add a pair to my closet. So, after rummaging around Goodwill I found a pair of high waisted jeans. Not what I wanted but nothing a pair of scissors couldn't correct. After cutting my shorts and just before I was about to pick out the perfect fabric to decorate the pockets with, I had another idea. A while ago I was at hobby lobby and they were having a sale on trim, buy one get one 50% off, too good a deal to pass up, so I ended up walking away with some lace trim. While I was examining my shorts I though, why don't I attach some lace trim to the bottom of the shorts? Not only will I have a pair of high waisted shorts but the lace will give the bottom of the shorts an almost pendulum effect, other trend that everyone, including myself, is dying over.

Recognize the boots? (They are even cuter in person!)
Also pictured my newly finished high waisted shorts with lace trim (I'm so proud of them!), double v-neck black shirt (a staple everyone should have in their closet), and my new favorite accessory.

So, I couldn't just buy the shoes, I mean really, when you are paying for shipping you might as well get your money's worth right? So, I also bought the Glamour Collar Necklace and of course I love it. I can't stop thinking of outfits to pair it with!

So moral of this post? High waisted shorts are even better when you add a lace trim to the bottom (look for my DIY post on that in a few days), a jewel studded collar necklace is beautiful, buy a double v-neck shirt, and UrbanOG has amazing boots.
